The online drama started when a username @altadenic on X, formerly Twitter, claimed that the 86-year-old actor had been "dead for two days," and expressed a surprise at the lack of news coverage.

The baseless claim prompted an outpouring of tributes and condolences for the beloved actor.

That seemed to make up some people's minds even though they could've checked themselves and saw that Freeman's Google page does not use those pictures nor does it say he died.
